How we will work together?

We are all facing climate change and the associated requirements in terms of environmental and climate protection. The influence of human behavior becomes visible in nature and our direct environments to what many factors have contributed. For example, ecological sustainability is not conceivable without social sustainability – our networks, communication styles, everyday life and work situations play a major role in how we treat the world. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by all United Nations member states recognize that developments must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability. Social indicators have been as well integrated into the Factbook that the intergovernmental Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) publishes yearly to give sustainable directions.

In this seminar, we want to consider how we can approach human factors and create transformation towards social sustainability by looking specifically at one area of interest. We would like to deal with questions of social sustainability in the professional context – our work environments:

- How do we get along at work?

- How do we communicate in organizations?

- How does our work-related network look like?

- How do we behave in conflict situations with colleagues?

- How do we deal with mechanisms of discrimination and exclusion within teams?

- How can we create mutual acceptance and esteem between each other?

- How is personal growth connected with the growth of the work community?

Together we will explore our work environments by using methods in three layers: reflections, critical outbreak and growth and create visionary concepts for our work contexts. They will lead us to a set of values and transformation ideas describing how we imagine a socially sustainable work environment.

The two-day seminar will be conducted by designers of KITE.design at the location of Spreefeld Berlin. It will be held in English.
